ANIME NORTH VOODOO BABY DESIGN CONTEST!

Returning for a second year, the Anime North VooDoo Baby (http://www.vdbaby.com/) design contest!

Win 6 copies of the doll you design!

1. This contest is open to anyone in Canada.

2. All submissions must be received by Kaku Labs or Hairy Tarantula no later than March 24, 2008.

3. Do not include your name on the same page or image file as your submission. Include your personal contact information separately from your design, in the same envelope or e-mail, to ensure judges' impartiality. (When e-mailing, write your contact info in the body of the e-mail, and make an attachment of your submission).

4. Entrants agree that the winning submission will become the "intellectual property" exclusively of Kaku Labs Inc., with permission for fair use in promotions and fundraising granted to Anime North.

5. When designing a doll it is best to compare your creation to existing dolls as far as the basic body structure is concerned. Additions such as swords, pins, capes, ears, and so on are infinitely permeable, but the basic aspects of a doll's body entail a certain degree of string technology to manufacture, so make sure it's actually possible to wind your design from string!

5a. It is not in any way necessary to actually draw your design! A winning design could occur from a detailed verbal description just as well as a talented drawing or computer rendering.

5b. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DRAW! (See 5a - we're just making sure you know that you don't have to draw!)

6. This contest is for the design of the basic physical doll. Feel free to describe a "power" for your doll - just remember it's not actually a part of the contest. This also applies to a name for the doll. Deciding the final name and power of the winning doll will be up to Kaku Labs and Anime North exclusively.

7. Because of rights issues, designs based on Momiji, the Anime North mascot, are not allowed.

8. On March 31, Kaku Labs and Hairy Tarantula will finish reviewing all submissions received and forward the best 5 to Anime North for the final selection. Kaku Labs will notify the winner, since only Kaku Labs will have all of the return information for entries.

9. In April the dolls will begin production in Thailand to arrive in Canada well before Anime North. The winner will receive 6 dolls of their own - a week or two before everyone else gets to see them.
