Hare-Hare Dance Contest

So, You Think You Can “Hare-Hare”?
(a.k.a The Suzumiya Haruhi Ending Theme Dance Contest)

Does your group have an alien, esper, or time traveler?

Do you have the right moves?

Do you look good in a bunny or maid costume?

Do you have what it takes to make the S.O.S. proud?

If you said yes to any one of these questions… then what are you waiting for?

In celebration of the Canadian premiere of “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”… Anime North, HMV Canada and the S.O.S. Brigade are calling for brave souls to rise up to the challenge. Call in your troops, gear up, get ready to show your dance moves and do the Hare-hare!

It’s easy to join and here are the rules…

  1. This contest is only open to groups.  Specifically, a team no less than three and no more than 5. You don’t have a group? No problem! Don’t be shy to ask fellow single Hare-hare dancers who are in the same situation during the con. Kidnap members from another group if you have to! It’s the Haruhi way! Make Haruhi proud!

  1. Show up for “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” screening. (Please check your program schedule for details). Please come on time. The earlier the better. And don’t forget your group name!

  1. There will be a maximum of 10 groups who will get a chance to dance onstage to be drawn on the spot by lottery. They will dance in front of the audience and the celebrity judges who will make comments on your performance a.k.a. [insert your favourite dance/idol reality show here] style. So be like the members of the S.O.S. Brigade… Be prepared for the randomness!

  1.  Do you need to be in costume? Do you need to be in character? It’s entirely up to you! But remember, you will be dancing to the same song and the same dance sequence as every one else who is joining the contest. So make sure to Hare-hare in your own unique way to make yourself and your group stand out! Yes! Stand out! That’s also the Haruhi way!

  1. Oh, did I also mention that the group who wins would be decided by the mob? Yes, the group that gets the loudest applause from the audience wins! There will also be a special individual prize for the dancer who stands out the most, which will be decided by the celebrity judges.

So if you have what it takes to out-Hare-Hare all those other S.O.S. Brigade wannabies, then make sure to be there!
